How Chamber Connect collects, uses, keeps, and shares information, including the choices available to California residents.
Notice at collection
Chamber Connect is a business directory and virtual chamber network operated byIdeas Realized, a California-based software studio. We collect the information described below to run the directory, verify and manage listings, answer requests, provide chamber tools, prevent abuse, and understand whether people use a listing's outbound link.
The table covers categories collected during the previous 12 months and the categories we expect to collect while these features remain available.
| Category | Examples | Why we use it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact and account information | Name, email, user ID, sign-in session, chamber role | Sign-in, verification, account support, claims, and service messages | While the account or request is active, then as needed for security, legal, or dispute records |
| Business and chamber information | Name, website, address, phone, description, logo, hours, social links, RSS feed, membership | Build and operate public directory pages and chamber hubs | While the listing is active; removal and suppression records may be kept to prevent republication |
| Requests and communications | Waitlist details, claim notes, removal requests, support messages, chamber introduction contact details and messages, application reports, membership evidence and visibility choices, email delivery records | Respond, verify ownership, send requested service messages, and maintain an audit trail | For the request lifecycle and as needed to document the action taken |
| Payment and subscription information | Stripe customer and subscription IDs, plan, status, billing email | Start and manage paid chamber tools | For the subscription and required accounting, tax, fraud, and dispute periods |
| Device and use information | IP address, country, referring page, security logs, anonymous outbound-click counts | Security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and daily click deduplication | Short-lived where practical; click-deduplication keys expire after about 26 hours, while operational logs follow provider schedules |
| Approximate area | Network-derived city/region and coarse coordinates; optional browser-provided coordinates rounded to two decimal places | Recommend nearby directory places and businesses; device location is used only after you ask and grant permission | Used for that request and not saved to your account or browser storage by Chamber Connect |
No sale or behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use advertising cookies. Authentication data can qualify as sensitive personal information under California law; we use it only to secure your account and provide the service you requested.
Information we collect
Information you give us
This includes details submitted through waitlist, sign-in, claim, removal, profile, chamber, support, and billing flows. Content you choose to publish on a listing or chamber hub becomes public.
Information from public sources
We may draft unclaimed business listings from businesses' own public websites and public chamber rosters. Those records may include business contact details that also identify an owner or sole proprietor. Unclaimed listings are marked and can be claimed. Anyone may request removal without an account; a confirmed work-email domain that matches the listing website can complete the removal automatically, while other requests are verified by a person before the listing changes.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting and security providers receive ordinary request data such as an IP address, browser, requested page, timestamp, and referring page. For outbound clicks, Chamber Connect uses an IP-based one-way digest to avoid counting the same visitor repeatedly; the raw IP is not stored with the click count. See the cookie notice for browser storage details.
Local recommendations
Our hosting provider supplies an approximate city or region based on your network connection. We use this request information to suggest nearby directory places and businesses, without a device-location prompt. Network estimates can be wrong, especially with VPNs and mobile networks. Choose a city in search, select “All places,” or choose “Use my location” for a closer match after your browser grants permission. Coordinates are rounded to two decimal places before our directory lookup and are not saved to your account, cookies, or local storage. Suggestions stay within 50 miles of the estimate; if coverage is missing, we show the national directory rather than describe distant places as nearby. Ordinary infrastructure providers may still process request data under their own security and retention schedules.
Chamber connections and membership
When you request an introduction, we share the contact name, email and message you approve with authorized staff of the selected chamber. The platform owner can review the request for support. This does not enroll you in marketing or make your contact details available as an agency lead list.
We keep request status, consent, staff actions, application reports and confirmations, membership dates and visibility choices to operate the workflow and resolve disputes. Withdrawing an introduction hides its contact details and message from the chamber's workspace; it does not delete the audit record or recall information already received. Use the privacy-request process below to ask about access, correction or deletion.
Authorized staff of a verified chamber can supply a member directory and confirm a relationship with an existing business profile, including an unclaimed profile. We retain the source, confirming actor, membership dates and change history. A current chamber-confirmed relationship may appear publicly without the business creating a Chamber Connect account. It does not establish profile ownership, the business's endorsement of Chamber Connect or permission to send marketing.
Business owners can hide or dispute an association in their workspace. Those choices are not cleared when a chamber imports or reconfirms its directory. If you do not control the business profile, you can request correction or removal of the association by emailing hello@ideas-realized.com. You do not need an account to make that request. We may ask for proportionate evidence that you represent the business. Hiding an association does not cancel membership with the chamber or erase the audit history. Private test relationships are not published.
We record a limited navigation label, such as “Guide” or “County,” with a submitted introduction. We report request and response totals separately from outbound application clicks. Clicking an application link does not tell us whether you completed the external form. Email delivery records do not tell us whether a chamber read your request.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve Chamber Connect.
- Authenticate people and verify listing or chamber relationships.
- Publish claimed profiles, chamber hubs, posts, and other content people choose to make public.
- Process waitlist, claim, correction, removal, privacy, and support requests.
- Send sign-in links, confirmations, service notices, and other messages a person requests.
- Process chamber subscriptions, prevent fraud, and keep business records.
- Measure anonymous outbound-click totals and troubleshoot the service.
- Comply with law and protect users, businesses, Ideas Realized, and the public.
When information is disclosed
We disclose information only as needed for the service, including to:
- Cloudflare for hosting, network delivery, security, and key-value storage.
- Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage.
- Resend for transactional email.
- Stripe for checkout, subscription billing, and its own fraud prevention. Chamber Connect does not receive full card numbers.
- Professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce terms, investigate abuse, or protect rights and safety.
- A successor in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Public profile and chamber information is, by design, visible to anyone and may be indexed by search engines. A link to another site is governed by that site's privacy practices.
During the previous 12 months, we disclosed the categories listed in the notice at collection to the service-provider categories above for these business purposes. We did not sell them or share them for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention and security
We keep each category only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, the relationship with the user or business, and legal, accounting, security, backup, and dispute requirements. A confirmed removal suppression record may be retained so a listing is not rebuilt from a later public-data import. Provider backups and logs expire on their own schedules.
We use safeguards appropriate to the information, including encrypted transport, secure HTTP-only sign-in cookies, role-based database access, and hosted payment collection. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
California privacy choices
Depending on which law applies to a request, California residents may have rights to know or access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service after exercising a privacy right. We extend access, correction, and deletion requests to Chamber Connect users even when a statutory threshold does not require it, subject to reasonable legal, security, and operational exceptions.
Chamber Connect does not currently sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, so there is no sale or sharing to opt out of. We do not discriminate for a privacy request. You can alsorequest removal of a public listing without an account.
How to make a request
Email us with the subject “Privacy request” and describe what you want to access, correct, or delete. We may ask for information needed to match and verify the request. An authorized agent may submit a request, but we may require proof of authorization and direct identity verification. We will use information supplied for verification only to handle the request.
Email a privacy requestBrowser privacy signals
Because we do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals do not change the site's behavior today. We do not load third-party advertising or audience analytics. Essential infrastructure providers still receive request information needed to deliver and protect the site. If these practices change, we will update this policy and honor legally required opt-out signals.
Children
Chamber Connect is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us so we can review it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the product or law changes. We will post the new date here and provide a more prominent notice when a change materially affects how we use personal information.
